The war memorial is located near Villa Valmarana Morosini, in the central square of Altavilla Vicentina, in the province of Vicenza.
The stone monument was inaugurated in the early 1960s, it has a square shape (about 6.60 x 6.60 meters) paved in gray gneiss and surrounded by an iron chain supported by 10 stone pillars. The square base measures approximately 4 m. and there are steps for a height of about 1.20 m. At the top there is an aedicule with four Ionic columns and a stone balustrade, inside there is a votive lamp. Above the aedicule there is the statue of an infantryman placed as sentinel who watches over the borders of his homeland, behind him there is a broken column, symbol of his broken life. A flag can be seen between the statue and the column. The overall height of the monument is about 6 m.
At the foot of the monument there are some stone slabs inscribed with the names of the soldiers who died in the war. The central slab is engraved with "In perennial memory - of the fighter pilot lieutenant - Ernesto Monico - orphan of war - gold medal for military valor - born in Altavilla vic. 23-5-1910 - died in Talavera della Rejna 4-9-1936 ", during the Spanish Civil War.
The plate on the right shows 62 names of soldiers fallen for their homeland from 1915 to 1918, there are some recourring surnames: Bedin, Caoduro, Lovato, Rigotto, Rossi, Scarpi and Venturini, it means they belonged to the same family group.

The Viale della Rimembranza is another monument to the Fallen who are symbolized by the row of Ginkgo Biloba trees. Each tree was planted in memory of a citizen who died for his homeland during the Great War of 1915-1918.

Il monumento ai caduti è collocato in prossimità di Villa Valmarana Morosini, nella piazza centrale di Altavilla Vicentina, in provincia di Vicenza.
Il monumento in pietra fu inaugurato nei primi anni del 1960, l’area sacra ha una forma quadrata (circa 6,60 x 6,60 metri) pavimentata in beola grigia e delimitata da una catena in ferro sorretta da 10 pilastrini in pietra. Il basamento quadrato misura alla base circa 4 m. e si sviluppa a gradoni per un’altezza di circa 1,20 m. Alla sommità è collocata un’edicola di quattro colonne con capitello ionico e balaustra in pietra, al suo interno è posta una lampada votiva. Sopra all’edicola si trova la statua di un fante come sentinella che veglia i confini della Patria, alle due spalle vi è una colonna spezzata simbolo della sua vita spezzata. Tra la statua e la colonna si intravede una bandiera. L’altezza complessiva del monumento è di circa 6 m.
Ai piedi del monumento si trovano delle lastre di pietra recanti i nomi dei soldati caduti in guerra. Nella lastra centrale è inciso “A perenne memoria - del tenente pilota da caccia - Ernesto Monico - orfano di guerra - medaglia d’oro al valor militare - nato ad Altavilla vic. 23-5-1910 - caduto a Talavera della Rejna 4-9-1936”, durante la Guerra Civile spagnola.
Nella lastra di destra sono indicati 62 nomi di caduti per la patria dal 1915 al 1918, dove i cognomi che ricorrono sono: Bedin, Caoduro, Lovato, Rigotto, Rossi, Scarpi e Venturini segno che appartengono allo stesso gruppo famigliare.

Il Viale della Rimembranza è un’altra tipologia di monumento ai caduti, simboleggiati dal filare di alberi di Ginkgo Biloba. Ogni pianta ricorda un cittadino deceduto per la Patria durante la Grande Guerra del 1915-1918.
