In December 1939 - the ordinance of the General Governor Hans Frank on marking Jews entered into force. '' From December 1, 1939, all Jews residing in the General Government, who are over 10 years old, must wear white bands and cloaks with a minimum width of 10 cm on the top of their sleeves, with the star of Zion. Jews and Jewish women will get these armbands themselves '', the communique said.
Jews also tagged in others conquered by Adolf Hitler.
The marking took various forms: meetings, circles, most often it was the Star of David. The Jews changed the star, for example, on an armband, on the chest or on the back. Usually yellow, eg in the General Government, blue and installation on a white background. In some countries the word Jew was commanded in the middle of the family.
The compulsory age of wearing the marking also varied: in the Reich and Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the Netherlands, Belgium, France - 6 years of age. 10 years of age in the General Government and 14 years of age in Lviv.
Marking was supposed to be a stigma, another form of humiliation of the Jews. Marking them was supposed to deprive them of their human features and make them hostile to another non-Jewish part of society.

W grudniu 1939 r.
Wiek obowiązkowy noszenia oznakowania tez bywał różny: w Rzeszy i Protektoracie Czech i Moraw, Holandii, Belgii, Francji – 6 rok życia. W Generalnym Gubernatorstwie 10 rok życia a we Lwowie 14 rok życia.
Oznakowanie miało być piętnem, kolejną formą upokorzenia Żydów. Pietno miało ich pozbawić cech ludzkich, nastawić wrogo inną nieżydowską część społeczeństwa.
