The Cathedral is dedicated to St. Matthew, Patron saint of Asiago. It was a simple but elegant buiding and also the most important church in the centre of the town.
It was completely destroyed during the Strafexpedition, along with the other buildings overlooking the main square.
It was rebuilt in 1926 with some extensions but respecting the original features such as the external walls covered with pink Asiago marble
