Jurgen Stropp German commander responsible for suppressing the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
As a result of German operations carried out from April 13, 1943, the ghetto uprising was suppressed. The ghetto area was razed to the ground, thousands of people were killed and taken to extermination camps. Jurgen Stroop ordered all shelters, hiding places and bunkers in which the insurgents could be hiding, set on fire. Many of them burned down. Jurgen Stropp himself blew up the Great Synagogue. After the destruction of the ghetto, he prepared a report in the form of an album documenting the process of destroying the ghetto and the crimes against Jews. The report was one of the pieces of evidence during the Stropp trial.
Jurgen Stroop was captured by the Americans in 1945 and tried. At the request of the Polish authorities, he was transferred to Poland, where the Stropp trial began in 1951. Jurgen Stropp was sentenced to death for the crimes committed during the pacification of the Warsaw ghetto in 1943.

In the photo we can see min. Jurgen Stropp against the backdrop of the burning ghetto.

Jurgen Stropp dowódca niemiecki odpowiedzialny za stłumienie powstania w getcie warszawskim.
W wyniku niemieckich działań prowadzonych od 13 kwietnia 1943 r. powstanie w getcie zostało stłumione. Tereny getta zostały zrównane z ziemią, tysiące ludzi zostało zabitych i wywiezionych do obozów zagłady.
